To continue reinforcing our air freight service and operations excellence and take the lead in driving air cargo digitalization, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has lately introduced a trade declaration module as the fifth module of HKIA Cargo Data Platform. This is an additional enablement on our platform's one-stop service capability, allowing users to manage the entire process—from pre-declaration (export) or cargo collection (import) to trade declaration (TDEC) submission—through a single platform.
We appreciate the collaborative partnership with one of the HKSAR Government electronic trading services providers, BRIO, to enable HKIA Cargo Data Platform to provide one-stop convenience to our air cargo stakeholders. HKIA Cargo Data Platform users can now manage their air cargo imports, exports and trade declaration operations in a streamlined manner, eliminating the traditional needs to operate across multiple system interfaces of different service providers for different submissions at different times, thus mitigating the fragmented operations needs of the cargo agents and their tedious efforts in adapting to various external systems. An integrated platform facilitates corporate communication and enables responsible personnel to readily keep track of the declaration status of all import and export shipments, thus reducing the possibility of missed submissions.
Freight forwarders can utilize previously input and processed import and export shipment information for subsequent TDEC process. Together with the actual weight and flight data, related information will be automatically prefilled into the TDEC template based on the original Master Air Waybill (MAWB), and users can modify relevant details before submission as needed, which can greatly simplify users input processes. Autofill function reduces repetitive and redundant entries of same data for different documentations and operations needs, which can enhance operational efficiencies, improve data consistencies and minimize error prone. All in all, the chances of requiring modification after TDEC submission can be reduced, thus enhancing users’ experience.
To further optimize the process and enhance user convenience, the module is also equipped with distinctive features like advanced search and bulk upload functions.
